International Schools in Marbella
English-speaking international schools on the Costa del Sol. British, American, and international curriculum schools for expat children.
Marbella has an excellent choice of international schools, mainly following British or American curricula. This is one of the reasons so many families choose the area. Most schools offer education from nursery through to A-Levels or IB.
Curriculum options:
- **British curriculum:** GCSEs and A-Levels, familiar to UK families
- **American curriculum:** High school diploma, AP courses
- **International Baccalaureate (IB):** Internationally recognised, offered by several schools
- **Spanish system:** Free public education, but classes in Spanish
Typical fees: €8,000-18,000 per year depending on age and school. Some schools have waiting lists, so apply early.
What to consider:
- Curriculum and qualifications offered
- Location and school bus routes
- Class sizes and pastoral care
- Facilities (sports, arts, technology)
- University placement track record
Tips for Choosing
- Visit schools in person. The feel and atmosphere matters as much as academics
- Apply early for popular schools, especially for September entry
- Ask about the school bus service and routes in your area
- Check what's included in fees vs. extras (uniforms, trips, lunches)
- Talk to current parents for honest feedback on the school
