Cost of Living in Marbella: A Real Monthly Breakdown (2026)

What Does Marbella Actually Cost?

People ask this constantly. The answer is frustrating but true: it depends entirely on how you want to live. You can spend €2,200/month or €10,000/month. Marbella is "variable" rather than simply expensive.

Here's what things actually cost, based on living here ourselves.

Rent

This is your biggest expense. Prices have increased significantly since 2020.

Current monthly rent ranges (long-term, unfurnished):

| Type | Nueva Andalucia | San Pedro | Marbella Centre |

|------|-----------------|-----------|-----------------|

| Studio | €700-900 | €600-800 | €800-1,100 |

| 1-bed apartment | €900-1,200 | €800-1,000 | €1,000-1,400 |

| 2-bed apartment | €1,200-1,800 | €1,000-1,500 | €1,400-2,200 |

| 3-bed apartment | €1,600-2,500 | €1,300-2,000 | €1,800-3,000 |

Compared to the UK

Most things are 20-35% cheaper than the UK. The big exceptions:

  • **Rent**: Similar or higher in popular areas
  • **Eating out**: Much cheaper
  • **Cars**: Cheaper to run
  • **Utilities**: Cheaper (except summer A/C)
  • **Private healthcare**: Much cheaper
  • **Childcare/schools**: International schools are expensive

The Bottom Line

You can live comfortably in Marbella from €2,000/month as a single person or €3,000/month as a couple. Add €1,500-2,000/month if you have kids in international school.

"Luxury" living starts around €5,000/month and goes as high as you want.

The lifestyle here is worth it. Better weather, more outdoor time, less stress. Most people find their overall quality of life improves significantly, even on similar budgets to what they had in the UK.
